This cirque was formed in the northern parts of Japan. A team of Japanese geologists captured this photo. Cirques are small bowl shaped features found in mountains. When glaciers erode, cirques are formed. Cirques could also form lake like areas which results from melt water. These are called cirque lakes or also known as tarns.
