Weather Instruments - Weather Vane
Weather vanes are popular instruments used to detect wind direction. They can be found in many common places, like barns, tops of buildings (houses, churches, or even sky scrapers), or even look-out points near oceans and harbors. This instrument measures in North, East, South, and West. Instead of using the old fashioned way of licking your finger tip to see what way the wind blows, humans have been able to save time by looking at the weather vane instead.
