The Truth About Lava, Magma and Mount Doom.

Volcanoes, such as Mount Doom, may contain a hot liquid called magma. Lava can be cooled to create rock, or even majestic rings. When this magma leaves the volcano, it is called lava. Lava and magma are extremely hot, and can melt most substances very quickly. Examples of substances may be an evil ring, or Smeagol, who lived by Gladden Fields before he was corrupted by the Ring of Power.

There are many types of lava. However, there are two main types that you should know about. Basalt is a runny and more liquid lava that flows easily over rocks and mountains. Opposite to Basalt is Rhylit, which is very viscous and doesn't flow easily.

Here is a picture of Mount Doom for reference.
