1944 san juan earthquake

Took place in the province of San Juan, in the center-west area of Argentina. Happened at 8:52, January 15th, 1944. Estimated magnitudes range from 6.7 - 7.8. This earthquake killed 10,000 people (10% of the population at the time). 90% of the buildings were demolished. Emergency homes were built for the population with funds from the national state.
