Hurricane Andrew was a long lived hurricane that struck in mid August of 1992. The hurricane hit the northwest of the Bahamas and just south of Miami and proceeded to move through the Gulf of Mexico and finish in Louisiana. The winds peaked at 380 km/h and was categorized as a 5 on the Fujita scale. Hurricane Andrew caused 26.5 billion dollars of damage to the United States.
