Acid Rain is is a form of precipitation that is unusually acidic, meaning that it possesses elevated levels of hydrogen ions (low pH). It can have very harmfull effects on plants, aquatic animals, and infrastructure and much more. Acid rain is caused by emissions of carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides which react with water to produce acid rain.
One way that we can help to reduce the amount of acid rain is to limit the number of trips & how much you drive.
One major way is to reduce the amount of trips that you take in your car. Another way that a lot of our pollution is caused is by creating electrical energy. When electricity is created, fuels are usually burned, and this causes the pollution, which causes acid rain.
